The interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Major General Barry Tariye Ndiomu has opened talks with two government agencies on employment opportunities for ex-Niger Delta agitators.
Some of the former agitators may be employed by the Nigeria Customs Services (NCS) and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) if the PAP’s proposal gets their buy-in.
Ndiomu made the proposal to the NCS Comptroller-General, Col Hameed Ali (rtd) and the NITDA Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi.
During his meeting with Colonel Ali at the Abuja headquarters of the NCS, the PAP boss spoke of the need to recruit trained ex-agitators into the agency’s officers’ ranks.
