Nigerian striker Isaac Success has expressed his excitement after completing his move to United Arab Emirates club Al Wasl SC, following two months without a club. The 28-year-old forward parted ways with Serie A side Udinese on August 27, 2024, after his contract was mutually terminated.
Success was officially unveiled by Al Wasl on Saturday, with the Dubai-based club announcing his signing via their official Instagram account. The statement read, “Al Wasl announces the signing of Nigerian striker Isaac Success, 28, who previously played for Italy’s Udinese. Success joins as a foreign player to bolster the team for the 2024-2025 season. He brings valuable experience from European football, having played for clubs such as Udinese in Italy, Granada and Málaga in Spain, and Watford in England. He also represented Nigeria, earning the top goal scorer title at the U-17 Africa Cup and winning the U-17 World Cup in 2013.”
Success, a key player for Nigeria at the U-17 level, has featured for clubs across Europe, including Watford in the Premier League, Málaga, and Udinese. At Udinese, he scored four goals in 79 appearances during his three-year stint, which began in 2021.
The 28-year-old is eager to reignite his career with Al Wasl, one of the UAE’s most successful clubs, located in Zabeel, Dubai. The club, which plays its home games at Zabeel Stadium, has won eight league titles since its founding.
Success will be looking to make a strong impact at Al Wasl as they gear up for the 2024-2025 season, adding his European experience to their lineup.
