The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has congratulated young boxing sensation Moses Itauma on his recent victory in the boxing ring, describing it as a proud moment for Nigeria and the African community abroad.
Moses, a British-born boxer of Nigerian descent, impressed fans worldwide with a dominant performance in his latest heavyweight bout, adding another win to his growing record. Following the fight, NIDCOM, led by Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, released an official statement praising the young athlete for representing Nigeria with excellence on the global stage.
“We are proud of Moses Itauma’s discipline, dedication, and remarkable achievement,” the statement read. “He is a shining example of the strength and talent of Nigerians in the diaspora.”
Born to Nigerian and Samoan parents, the 19-year-old has been making waves in the boxing world with his speed, skill, and maturity beyond his years. His latest victory has further raised hopes that he could soon become one of the top names in the sport.
For many Nigerians, especially youths, Itauma’s success is a source of inspiration. NIDCOM emphasized that his journey shows how young Nigerians, both at home and abroad, can excel in sports, academics, and other fields when given the right support.
Sports analysts believe Moses has what it takes to become a future world champion. His wins are not just personal victories but symbols of the global impact Nigerians are making in sports.
Itauma, in a brief message after the fight, thanked his supporters and acknowledged his roots. “I fight for my family, for everyone who believes in me, and for my heritage,” he said.
NIDCOM is encouraging more collaboration between sports bodies in Nigeria and young talents abroad, to create pathways for success and national pride.
