The Leader of the Progressives Group and former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, Dr. Ben Nwoye, has commended President Bola Tinubu, saying his Renewed Hope Agenda is producing tangible results across various sectors of the country.
Nwoye made the remark on Monday in Enugu while speaking to journalists during reflections on Nigeria at 65.
He noted that Tinubu had made significant strides in stabilising the economy after years of challenges, pointing to progressive GDP growth recorded within different quarters since he assumed office.
According to him, the President’s security and community engagement strategies have led to a reduction in crude oil theft, fewer disruptions in production, and an overall increase in output.
He further lauded the administration for efforts that have resulted in what he described as a continuous decline in food price inflation, previously a major concern for Nigerians.
“These evidence-based achievements are an indication that the reforms put in place by Tinubu are working,” Nwoye said. “Rome was not built in a day; Nigeria will not be built in a day. The positive impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda is touching all sectors.”
He also highlighted improvements in federal allocations to sub-national governments, which he said had enabled governors to execute more developmental projects.
“The economic rebound is being witnessed within the states as governors use additional resources to tackle underdevelopment and poverty. In Enugu State, Gov. Peter Mbah’s achievements in barely two years speak volumes in terms of infrastructure development. Proper management of resources remains crucial,” he added.
Nwoye urged Nigerians to remain united, stressing that the country’s 65th independence anniversary should be seen as a time to celebrate freedom and reaffirm the vision of the nation’s founding fathers.
