In a major breakthrough in the fight against terrorism, the Nigerian Army has confirmed the elimination of more than 60 terrorists during a coordinated military operation in Bita, Borno State
The operation, carried out by troops under Operation Hadin Kai, involved both ground forces and aerial support in a swift counter-offensive launched early Friday morning, May 30, 2025. The terrorists had initially attacked the 26 Task Force Brigade, prompting an immediate and strategic response from the military.
According to military sources, the assault began around 1:09 a.m., with insurgents attempting to breach army defenses. The Nigerian forces responded with precision, deploying A-29 Super Tucano jets and Dragon aircraft to neutralize the threat. The combined land and air strikes proved highly effective, resulting in the deaths of at least 60 insurgents.
This latest success forms part of Nigeria’s broader strategy to dismantle terrorist strongholds in the northeast, particularly those linked to Boko Haram and ISWAP. The military emphasized that the operation reflects its continued commitment to restoring peace and security across the region.
