The United States has released its 2025 Visa Waiver Program (VWP) list, approving visa-free travel for nationals of 40 countries. A key update includes Romania’s addition reflecting shifting diplomatic priorities.
However, **the UK and all African nations remain excluded**. While UK travelers may still qualify under specific conditions, African countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa, continue to lack visa-free access.
The VWP allows approved travelers to visit the US for **up to 90 days for tourism or business**, provided they secure **Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA)** approval. Traditional visa applications remain available for those not on the list.
The **full list of participating countries** includes:
Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Romania.
While the **focus remains on security and streamlined travel**, the continued exclusion of the UK and African nations sparks debate over global mobility policies.
