Nigerians Plan Massive Protests After EFCC Overnight Raid, Sexual Assault in Akure

Nigerians aggrieved by the midnight raid of two clubhouses in Akure, Ondo State, by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), have mapped out plans to stage a protest against the invasion.

The EFCC, in a statement, confirmed that its agents, early on Saturday morning, arrested 127 suspected internet fraudsters during a “Yahoo Party” at  2 Clubs, in the Agbalaka area of the state capital.

In a move to express their dissatisfaction about the activities by operatives of the anti-graft agency, residents have shared pictures displaying information such as the date, time and venue of the protest.

Viral videos captured part of the incident, one of which showed a female victim sporting marks, a result of severe whipping by the EFCC operatives.
