The Ebeano political group led by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and founded by Chimaroke Nnamani has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.
This is coming barely 24hrs after its founder, Nnamani, dumped the PDP after he lost his Senate bid to Labour Party’s Kelvin Chukwu.
The chairman of the Ebeano group, Chief Emmanuel Okwor, announced the decision of the group to join the APC today.
Okwor, in a statement, said the alliance with the APC “is to consolidate the partnership with President-elect, Bola Tinubu, to achieve good governance in the country.”
According to him, members of the Ebeano political family across the country have been consulted and in agreement with the alliance in the interest of the people.
The Ebeano chieftain stated that the interest and welfare of the group will be better served under the APC structure in the country.
The group had consistently produced state governors, senators, members of House of Representatives, House of Assembly members, Ministers as well as local government council officials in the state since its inception.
