The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, has expressed his profound grief over the passing of his daughter, Fatima. In a heartfelt message shared on his X handle today, October 15, Kyari revealed that Fatima passed away last Friday.
In his post, the bereaved father wrote, “My daughter Fatima departed at her appointed time and looking forward to meeting her in Jannah by Allah’s grace. While the loss is great by all measures, we remain grateful to God for all his mercies.”
Kyari shared his deep emotions, reflecting on how much Fatima touched the lives of others despite her physical challenges. “I didn’t know the depth of her connections with many people and what she meant to many,” he noted. “Despite her physical challenges, she was able to touch hearts in very soothing ways, including mine.”
He also emphasized how her passing brought people together in a spirit of compassion and care, regardless of social status. Kyari expressed his gratitude to leaders, family members, friends, colleagues, and countless others who joined them in praying for Fatima’s soul and offering support during this difficult time.
The NNPCL boss concluded his message by thanking everyone who consoled his family and prayed for his daughter’s peaceful rest.
