The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has reiterated its role as the Federal Government’s lead communication agency, reaffirming its responsibility for coordinating and delivering accurate information on government policies, programs, and initiatives to Nigerians.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the agency emphasized that it remains at the forefront of public enlightenment, civic education, and national orientation, ensuring that citizens are well-informed and engaged in the nation’s development. NOA stressed that its mandate includes fostering national unity, countering misinformation, and promoting understanding of government activities across all regions of the country.
The agency highlighted its ongoing collaboration with ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to guarantee a coordinated and consistent flow of information, ensuring that messages from the government reach Nigerians in a timely and effective manner. NOA also underscored its use of modern media platforms, community outreach programs, and public sensitization campaigns as key tools in fulfilling its mandate.
According to NOA, the reaffirmation of its role is part of the Federal Government’s broader strategy to strengthen transparency, improve citizen engagement, and ensure that government communications are credible, accessible, and impactful nationwide.
