Former Beşiktaş midfielder Sinan Engin has cast doubt on the ability of a Fenerbahçe striker, insisting the forward is “not as good as people think” and struggles to perform in decisive matches.
Engin made the remarks while analyzing recent Turkish Super Lig fixtures, where he criticized the striker’s impact in high-pressure games. According to him, while the player delivers against weaker opponents, he often goes missing when it matters most.
“He’s talented, no doubt, but when you face big clubs or tight games, he disappears,” Engin said. “A truly top striker must show quality in those moments.”
His comments have stirred heated reactions among Turkish football fans. Supporters of Fenerbahçe defended their star, citing his goal record this season, while others agreed that consistency in big games is what separates good players from great ones.
The debate underscores the intense rivalry in Turkish football, where every performance — especially from high-profile players — is closely scrutinized by fans and pundits alike
