– The Oko Tournament kicked off recently at the Federal Polytechnic Oko field with a thrilling, albeit goalless, draw between local rivals Akuchi FC and Mitity FC.
The match, a tense 90 minute battle, saw both teams putting in a valiant effort but ultimately unable to break the deadlock.
Gracing the occasion with his presence was the amiable Mayor of Orumba North, Captain Barr. Casmir Chukwunonso Nwafor Rtd, who also serves as the President General of the Oko community. Mayor Nwafor commended the players for their sportsmanship and had the honor of performing the opening kick-off ceremony.
The event saw a strong turnout from prominent members of the Oko community, highlighting the tournament’s significance within the locality.
