The Oluwo of Iwo land, Oba Abdularosheed Adewale Akanbi (Telu 1), has disclosed that effective leadership can only be guaranteed in Nigeria if the country returns to a monarchical system of government.
He made this statement today while responding to questions from journalists after receiving the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Mashood Lekan Balogun at his palace.
He described the monarchical system of government as the best form of governance whereby citizens can hold their monarchs accountable.
According to him, the present system of government practiced in the country is not democracy.
He said democracy is not working for Nigeria, hence, the need to return to the traditional system of government.
Responding to the the OBA’S statement Barrister Fred Nzeako a seniour Advocate of Nigeria, is of an opposing view.
