
The Osun State Government has fired back at opposition parties, dismissing allegations of a breakdown in local government services as deliberate misinformation.
In a strongly worded statement on Monday, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, labeled the claims as fake news from merchants of falsehood, insisting that social services across the state remain fully functional.
Amidst recent misinformation from the opposition, it is important to inform the public that social services in health, education, and social documentation are being rendered seamlessly across all 30 local governments and the Area Council of Osun State, the statement read.
Government Exposes Opposition’s ‘Lies
Taking direct aim at critics, the government questioned the credibility of the opposition’s claims, mocking their so-called “comedic visitations.
If such local services are truly shut down, how come they were open and operating when those illegal impostors conducted their inspections?the statement queried.
To further drive home its point, the administration pointed to Governor Adeleke’s recent visits to health centers, where he allegedly witnessed two successful childbirths at Telemu and Ido Osun.
Digital Services as Proof of Efficiency
The government also highlighted its push to digitize administrative services, boasting that since 2023, thousands of Osun residents have accessed their state of origin and local government identification online.

Accusing the opposition of spreading baseless rumors, the government reassured citizens that Adeleke remains committed to good governance, the rule of law, and the fear of God.
