Two brothers, Dahiru Hammed (25) and Saidu Hammed (20), along with their friend Mohammed Bahase (21), were on Thursday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over an alleged attempt to steal a motorcycle.
The three defendants, whose residential addresses were not disclosed, were charged with conspiracy and attempted theft. They all pleaded not guilty.
According to the Prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Olarotimi, the alleged offence took place on April 10 around 1:00 p.m. along the Ibadan/Iseyin road. He said the defendants attempted to steal a Bajaj motorcycle valued at ₦750,000, which belongs to one Joseph Adewale.
The offences, Olarotimi said, are in violation of Sections 516 and 509 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Magistrate Adebola Adeola granted each defendant bail in the sum of ₦100,000 with two sureties in like sum. The sureties are required to meet court conditions.
The case was adjourned until June 16 for hearing.
