LAGOS—The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has strongly denounced a series of AI-generated videos falsely associating him with drug endorsements and scholarship schemes.
The deceptive videos, which have been widely shared on social media, have misled many into believing the respected cleric was involved in these promotions. In a fiery statement on his Facebook page on Wednesday, March 26, Adeboye condemned the fraudulent use of his name, warning his followers against falling victim to the scam.
“These videos are NOT from me, and I have no involvement in such promotions,” Adeboye declared, accusing the creators of the videos of attempting to exploit people’s faith for personal gain. He called on his followers to report the fake accounts and vowed that those responsible would face justice.
The pastor specifically named ‘Africa Health Centre’ and ‘Church-Funded Scholarships’ as entities behind the malicious acts, stating that authorities were already taking action. His remarks have sparked outrage among his supporters, with many demanding stricter regulations on AI-generated misinformation.
