The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has accused Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State of denying its governorship candidate, Dino Melaye, the opportunity to hold the grand finale of his campaign at the Lokoja Stadium.
Speaking with reporters in Abuja on Tuesday, the PDP National Spokesperson, Debo Ologunagba, said the governor denied the party’s request to use the stadium for the governorship campaign finale.
Ologunagba said the likelihood of violence in the state should not be associated with the opposition PDP because the party is not in charge of the security in the state.
The PDP spokesman stated that violence may come from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), adding that the Kogi governor is known for his violent tendencies.
The PDP spokesman added that Melaye has since announced that his final campaign will be held at another venue on Thursday.
