In a statement issued by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the opposition party blamed the current economic turmoil and widespread insecurity on the policies of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government. Key among their concerns are the hasty removal of fuel subsidies and the naira float, both of which they argue were implemented without proper safeguards for citizens.
The party also raised alarm over rising insecurity, noting that more than 5,000 Nigerians have lost their lives to terrorism, banditry, and kidnappings since May 2023. It criticized what it called the government’s slow and ineffective response to these threats.
Further condemning the administration’s style of governance, the PDP accused it of lacking transparency, compassion, and connection with the Nigerian people—fostering what they described as “a climate of despair.”
The PDP’s statement reflects a growing wave of dissatisfaction with the Tinubu administration and calls for a major shift in leadership strategy to address the country’s worsening challenges.
