The Zamfara Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has called for collective efforts to restore peace in the state.
State Commandant, Mr. Sani Mustapha, made the appeal on Monday in Gusau during a briefing to mark the 2025 International Day of Peace.
Mustapha described this year’s theme, “Act Now for a Peaceful World,” as timely and reflective of the aspirations of Nigerians, particularly residents of Zamfara, who yearn for lasting peace.
He reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to supporting government initiatives aimed at promoting peace and security across the country.
The commandant also commended the leadership of the NSCDC Commandant General, Prof. Abubakar Audi, for his guidance and professional support to officers and men of the corps.
Mustapha urged residents to embrace peace, live in harmony, and create an enabling environment for social and economic development.
The 2025 Peace Day celebration in Zamfara featured an award presentation to the state commandant and a road walk organized by corps members to raise public awareness on the importance of peace.
