The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered a large cache of stolen items in Mbiabam community, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of the state.
The arrest was confirmed by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Timfon John, in a statement released to journalists in Uyo on Wednesday.
“In its continuous effort to combat crime, the Akwa Ibom Police Command has recorded another significant breakthrough with the recovery of suspected stolen items in Ibiono Ibom LGA,” she said.
According to John, the suspect was arrested on Sunday, and several items believed to have been stolen were recovered during the operation.

John urged individuals who may have recently lost any of the listed items to visit the Police Command Headquarters in Uyo with proof of ownership to reclaim their property.
She added that investigations are ongoing and efforts are being intensified to arrest the suspect’s accomplices, who are still at large.
