Two suspected drug dealers with 2,084 sachets of suspected tramadol tablets worth N3.5m has been recovered by Katsina State Police Command.
In a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, on Thursday, stated that the arrest is in its bid to curb substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking in the state.
“On March 20th, 2025, at about 1600 hrs, based on credible intelligence, operatives of the command traced and arrested one Murtala Salisu, male, age 27, of Bare-bari village, Safana LGA, Katsina State, in possession of 2,084 sachets of suspected tramadol tablets. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to having gotten the illicit drugs from one Rabe (not real name) from Nassarawa State.” The statement reads.
The suspect mentioned one Tanimu Abubakar of Jibia LGA, Katsina State as his accomplice and were arrested with both confessing to the commission of the offence.
Going Further, the statement confirms that, investigation is ongoing, urging members of the public to continue supporting the command with valuable and timely information to aid in the fight against all forms of crime and criminality in the State.
