The Kano State Police Command has recovered nine unexploded ordnances from the scene of the recent explosion at Yongxing Steel Company along Ring Road, Mariri.
The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Hussaini Abdullahi disclosed this a statement that was made available to newsmen.
Abdullahi said the explosion was caused by an Unexploded Ordnance, not an improvised explosive device, as earlier speculated.

He explained that investigations revealed the UXOs were unknowingly transported with scrap metal from Yobe State and one detonated accidentally during offloading at the steel company.
Residents were urged to remain calm and avoid panic.
“There is no imminent security threat” the statement assured, encouraging the public to report any suspicious activity.
