The Plateau State Police Command recently rescued four children who were allegedly lured away by suspected child traffickers with biscuits. The Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adesina, made this known during a press briefing at the Command’s headquarters in Jos. The children were reported missing on October 11, 2024, and after swift police intervention, they were rescued and two suspects were arrested.
In another development, 25 individuals were arrested for various offences across Plateau State. One of the suspects, Emmanuel Joseph, was caught with a fabricated pistol after robbing a woman of her phone and power bank while she was returning from church.
Additionally, police busted a cybercrime ring involving 11 suspects, including two key offenders. The gang had reportedly abducted secondary school graduates, confined them, and coerced them into internet fraud schemes. The suspects are expected to be charged in court after investigations.
Commissioner Adesina expressed his gratitude to the public for their cooperation and urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to help maintain safety in Plateau State.
