President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Senate seeking the confirmation of new members of the board of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, NDIC.
The request was contained in a letter dated March 15, 2023, and read at the start of the plenary today by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.
The letter noted that Pursuant to section 5 (4) of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation Act, the president forwarded their names for confirmation with their CVs attached.
In the letter, the president hoped that his submission will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the Senate.
The seven nominees include Abdulhakeem Mobolaji for Chairman from the South-West, while the members are Prof. Osita Ogwu, from the South-East; Umar Jubril, from the North-Central; Mohammed Haruna from the North-East; Yesmin Dalhatu from the North-West; Simon Ogie from the South-South and Abimbola Olashore from the South-West.
