President Bola Tinubu is in Guinea-Bissau to attend the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), which opens yesterday.
President Tinubu, on arrival in Bissau, the country’s capital paid a visit to the Nigerian Troops under the ECOWAS Stabilisation Force, reminding the Nigerian armed forces that the country depends on them.
According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communication and Strategy, Mr Dele Alake, the President told the troops that he was in their camp to show solidarity and to let them know their country is proud of them and their loyalty.
He, however, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the soldiers and their Commander, Brigadier-General Grema, for their dedication and service to Nigeria and their host country, adding that Nigeria would continue to support democracy in West Africa and around the world.
