The Executive Director of Authority newspaper CHUKS AKUNNA, says that after Tinubu became President of Nigeria, there has been no public statement from him regarding corruption.
He made this observation during an interview via a Monitored Television Programme in reaction to the appointment of Abudullahi Ganduje the former kano state governor as the new National Chairman of the APC.
Chuks Akunna expressed disappointment, suggesting that the APC, with Tinubu’s legitimate ascension to power, could have taken the opportunity for an internal cleanup and chosen a more ‘credible’ figure to lead the party. He recalled a viral video showing Ganduje allegedly accepting dollars concealed in his traditional ‘babariga’ attire, and he pointed out that, to date, it appears that the federal government has been protective of him.
He further raised concerns about the absence of any corruption-related comments from President Tinubu since he assumed office on May 29, 2023, further contributing to discussions and questions about his stance on corruption.
