Primeboy accuses cops of violating his rights, and Mohbad

Musical artist Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as *Primeboy*, has taken legal action against the Nigeria Police Force, alleging a violation of his fundamental human rights. The Lagos State Police Command had declared *Primeboy* wanted on October 4, 2023, for failing to respond to police invitations regarding the investigation into the death of fellow singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as *Mohbad*.

In a statement released by *Primeboy*’s lawyer, Akinpelu Ogunbona, it was revealed that a lawsuit had been filed before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on October 11, 2023. The suit seeks several reliefs, including the removal of *Primeboy*’s name from the police’s wanted list. The singer is contesting the police bulletin issued by the Inspector General of Police, claiming that it violates his right to dignity.

The lawsuit is part of a broader legal effort by *Primeboy* to clear his name, following the controversies surrounding *Mohbad*’s death on September 12, 2023. After being declared wanted, *Primeboy* voluntarily surrendered himself to the police within 24 hours.

*Mohbad*, a former signee of Marlian Music, died at the age of 27 under mysterious circumstances, prompting widespread social media speculation and public outcry. In response, the Lagos State Police Command formed a 13-man special investigation team on September 18 to probe his death. This investigation has also led to the arrest of several individuals, including Naira Marley, the owner of Marlian Music, and socialite Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry.

The case continues to unfold as *Primeboy* seeks justice and clarification regarding his involvement in the investigation.
