Real Criminals Are in Power” – Charly Boy Slams Nigerian Leaders Amid Akpabio Sex Scandal

Nigerian activist and entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has launched a scathing attack on the country’s leadership following the explosive allegations of sexual harassment leveled against Senate President Godswill Akpabio by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Akpoti-Uduaghan recently took her grievances to the United Nations, accusing Akpabio of inappropriate conduct. The move has ignited nationwide controversy, with political observers questioning the culture of impunity among Nigeria’s ruling elite.

Reacting via Instagram, Charly Boy, also known as “Area Fada,” expressed his outrage over the state of governance in Nigeria. He likened the country’s political system to a den of criminals, calling out politicians as corrupt, immoral, and shameless.

“From the Presidency, the Supreme Court justices, law enforcement agencies, to the House of Representatives and horny senators, Nigeria don scatter scatter,” he wrote, referencing his 1989 song 1990, which predicted chaos in the nation.

He did not hold back in his condemnation of the National Assembly, branding its members as “randy dogs” and “undistinguished men without value or shame.”

Taking direct aim at Akpabio, Charly Boy accused the Senate President of a history of sexual misconduct, lamenting that in Nigeria, “victims are punished while the guilty roam free.”

“Nonsense. My people, globally na for Nigeria wey real criminals dey in power. A congregation of crooks, drug peddlers, and sex predators are in charge of Nigeria. Dia fathers,” he added.

Charly Boy’s fiery remarks have intensified the debate over the alleged scandal, further fueling public outrage over the perceived moral decay among Nigeria’s political elite. While Akpabio has yet to formally respond to the latest accusations, the controversy is unlikely to die down anytime soon.
