Real Madrid will attempt to plead with left-back Ferland Mendy to leave the club this summer.
Los Blancos are eyeing reinforcements at left back, according to Spanish outlet Relevo.
Last season’s Champions League winners were not able to pass the semi-final of the competition this season, crashing out to Manchester City 5-1 on aggregate.
They have also surrendered the La Liga title to Barcelona, who clinched the trophy last week.
The Spanish giants are keen on signing another player in the left-back position despite having already agreed to re-sign Fran Garcia from Rayo Vallecano for €5 million.
Los Blancos will need to offload 27-year-old Mendy before signing another left-back, but they have to convince the defender to leave this summer.
Mendy’s injury record, which has seen him miss 23 games across competitions this season, is a concern.
Arsenal have nevertheless been linked with a move for Mendy, who is contracted to Real Madrid until 2025.
The Gunners could sign the left-back for €20 million euros, with Kieran Tierney potentially on his way out. The Santiago Bernabeu outfit signed Mendy from Olympique Lyon for €48 million euros in 2019.
