Regina Pacis International Secondary School, Onitsha, has been crowned champion of the 2025 National Schools Tax Debate Competition in Anambra State. The competition, organized by the Society of Women in Taxation (SWIT), Anambra State Chapter, brought together top student debaters from across the state to engage in a high-level intellectual contest.
A standout performer in the event was Ngagu Pascaline, who was named Best Speaker of the Day. With this achievement, she will now represent Anambra State at the national stage in Abuja, alongside the competition’s second-best speaker from another school.
Held at Onitsha Business School, GRA, Onitsha, the debate focused on the topic: “Increase in Value Added Tax Rate is Beneficial to the Economy.” The Regina Pacis team captivated judges with their well-researched arguments, eloquence, and deep understanding of economic policies, ultimately securing the top spot.
This victory further cements Regina Pacis’ reputation for academic excellence and strong debate performances. The school’s team has been praised for their dedication and outstanding achievement, as they now set their sights on representing Anambra at the national level.
