The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has threatened to initiate a defamation lawsuit against Kano State’s deputy governor, Aminu Gwarzo, regarding his statements in the ongoing Kano Emir ship controversy.
You do recall that the state Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, had accused Ribadu of assisting in the return of the deposed Emir to the city at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Gwarzo, in a brief video interview at the Emir’s palace in Gidan Rumfa, claimed that the NSA arranged for two aircraft to transport the sacked monarch to the state.
The spokesperson of the NSA’s office, Zakari Mijinyawa, responded to the allegations, saying they were untrue.
Although he refuted the accusation on Saturday via his spokesperson, Mijinyawa, the NSA, also sent a letter through his legal representatives, Aliyu & Musa Chambers, demanding an apology from Gwarzo.
The lawyers pointed out that Ribadu, who had not faced any accusations of wrongdoing, was constantly bombarded with phone calls from individuals within and outside Nigeria concerning the unfounded allegations.
