The governorship ambition of Rt. Hon. Chief Sir Chukwuma Umeoji (Oba Aguata) is gaining significant momentum, with a strong show of support from members of the APC Aguata Local Government Working Committee. On Sunday, January 26, 2025, Umeoji, a leading aspirant for the Anambra State governorship seat, formally declared his intention to contest the 2025 elections under the APC platform in Ekwulobia, Aguata.
During the meeting, Rt. Hon. Umeoji emphasized his vision for the state, focusing on addressing critical issues such as power and security. He explained that these areas require urgent attention to drive economic growth, curb capital flight, and foster business development in the state. He also highlighted his past contributions to the development of Anambra State and its people.
The event saw an outpouring of support for Umeoji, with speakers praising his leadership and dedication. Chief Godson Anyadike, Chairman of APC Aguata Local Government, expressed gratitude for Umeoji’s confidence in seeking support from his local government. He described the aspirant as a grassroots leader who has consistently delivered in every position he has held.

Rt. Hon. Ikem Uzoezie, a two-time former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, further endorsed Umeoji, citing his qualifications and capacity to govern the state. He urged the party to give Umeoji the support he needs to succeed.
Several other speakers also called for a re-strategizing of the party’s efforts, stressing that such a move would ultimately benefit the greater good of the people.
