SAD | Charles Anwurum Reveals What Mr. Ibu Told Him Before His Passing

Whenever I think of my dear colleague and friend, Mr. Ibu, I’m overcome with emotion. He wasn’t just someone I worked with—he was family. A peaceful, loving soul with a heart that radiated warmth. We shared more than just work—we shared laughter, dreams, and countless quiet moments that now feel like treasures.

I remember

those long days, and how we’d find solace in each other’s company—sitting under the shade behind the office, talking about life. He spoke often about his love for making people laugh, about his family, and his unshakable belief that kindness, no matter how small, could change the world.

We saw the world through similar eyes: loyalty was sacred, peace was always worth striving for, and even when life got tough, we agreed—we must stay good, stay kind. One of his words still echoes in my mind: “This life na one chance, make we use am well.” And truly, he did. He lived with purpose, with love, with laughter.

My heart aches with his absence. I miss him deeply. The pain of loss is sharp, and the helplessness is real—but in that pain, there is also peace. I find comfort in believing he now rests in a place where sorrow cannot reach, and where joy knows no end.

Rest well in the Lord, my brother. You may have left this world too soon, but your laughter still fills the spaces you once stood in. Your spirit lives on in our hearts. Until we meet again, keep smiling from above, Mr. Ibu.

Forever missed. Never forgotten.
— Charles Anwurum
