Military Pensions Board Disowns Fake WhatsApp Group
The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has dissociated itself from a WhatsApp group falsely created in its name and cautioned pensioners and the public against engaging with it.
The disclaimer was issued in a statement on Monday in Abuja by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Sqn. Ldr. Aliyu Mohammed.
According to him, the group titled “Military Pensions Board (MPB)” was created by unknown individuals and does not represent the board. He stressed that the MPB had not established any WhatsApp group for pensioners or veterans, describing the platform as fraudulent.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the MPB communicates with pensioners and stakeholders strictly through its official social media handles, press releases, official statements, and other recognized channels,” Mohammed said.
He reassured pensioners that their welfare remains the Board’s top priority and urged them to always verify information through official contacts before taking action.
