Senate President and former Senate Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan, has officially flagged off the construction of the Potiskum-Gashua Road, a key infrastructure project expected to boost economic activities and improve transportation in Yobe State.

Speaking at the ceremony on Sunday, Senator Lawan emphasized the road’s importance as a vital link for communities in the region. He noted that the project would enhance trade, reduce travel time, and improve access to essential services such as education and healthcare.

“The Potiskum-Gashua Road has long been a crucial route for our people. Its construction will facilitate the movement of goods and services, benefiting farmers, traders, and local entrepreneurs. This is not just about infrastructure—it is about securing a brighter future for our communities,” he said.

Senator Lawan urged the contractors and all stakeholders involved to uphold the highest standards of quality and ensure timely completion of the project to minimize disruptions for residents. He reiterated the need for efficiency and accountability in executing the project.

The Senator also expressed appreciation to the federal government for its continued support and commitment to infrastructural development in Yobe State.

The Potiskum-Gashua Road project is expected to significantly improve connectivity, opening up economic opportunities for residents and fostering regional growth.
