Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi commissioned an industrial borehole for the people of Opherekpe Inyimegu in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. The project, initiated, funded, and completed by Senator Nwebonyi, is one of four boreholes recently completed in Izzi LGA. This marks another milestone in the senator’s ongoing efforts to deliver on his campaign promises to provide safe drinking water for his constituents.
Speaking during the event, Senator Nwebonyi expressed gratitude to God and thanked the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for his unwavering support. Represented at the commissioning by the Hon. Commissioner for Market Development and Parks, Prof. Nwogo Ajuka Obasi, Governor Nwifuru was commended for his encouragement and collaboration in improving the lives of the people of Ebonyi North.
The senator highlighted that this borehole is part of a larger initiative, with over 25 industrial and motorized boreholes already drilled across the four council areas in the Ebonyi North senatorial zone.
Dr. Hillary Ifeanyi Nweli, the contractor for the project, assured the public of the borehole’s quality and durability, emphasizing the need for proper maintenance. To support this, Senator Nwebonyi announced the empowerment of the borehole manager with a motorcycle, ensuring efficient management and upkeep of the facility.
“This project is a step forward in delivering on my promise to provide my people with healthy drinking water sources,” Senator Nwebonyi stated. “To God be the glory for making this possible.”
The commissioning was met with gratitude and applause from the local community, who expressed their appreciation for the senator’s dedication to improving their welfare.
