Shocking |Tinubu Orders Military Offensive as Fresh Plateau Massacre Claims 51 Lives

President Bola Tinubu has directed security forces to launch a decisive offensive against criminal elements following another brutal attack in Plateau State that left at least 51 people dead.

The latest assault, which occurred in the early hours of Monday in Zikke and Kakpa communities in Bassa Local Government Area, marks yet another dark chapter in the ongoing wave of violence plaguing the region. Eyewitnesses reported that heavily armed gunmen stormed the villages, killing residents, torching homes, and leaving scores injured.

Reacting to the bloodshed, President Tinubu condemned the attacks in strong terms and ordered an immediate and intensified security crackdown to root out the perpetrators. He described the continued violence as unacceptable and called for a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice.

“The recurring loss of innocent lives must stop. I have directed our security agencies to take all necessary measures to track down and eliminate those behind these heinous acts,” Tinubu stated through his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga.

The president also urged Governor Caleb Mutfwang to work closely with local communities and political stakeholders to resolve the underlying causes of the conflict and restore peace to Plateau State.

This latest attack comes just weeks after another deadly incident in the same state claimed over 50 lives, sparking outrage among citizens, civil society, and international observers over the government’s perceived inaction.
