Soludo and Wife Mark 32nd Wedding Anniversary, Advocate for Family Rebuilding/ Vop

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has emphasized the urgent need to rebuild families as the cornerstone of society.

Speaking during a special mass held at his hometown in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area, to commemorate his 32nd wedding anniversary with his wife, Nonye, the Governor lamented the erosion of family values. He noted that many individuals contributing to insecurity and unrest in the state hail from broken families, underscoring the importance of addressing this societal challenge.

Governor Soludo described his wife as a virtuous and divine gift, recounting their journey of love and marriage. He revealed that their anniversary celebrations are consistently dedicated to praying for struggling marriages, encouraging families to find strength and unity.

In his homily, the Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, urged Christians to rely on God in all circumstances and encouraged couples to draw inspiration from the Governor and his wife. He commended the Governor’s ongoing developmental efforts in Anambra State.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, extended his congratulations to the couple and urged younger generations to model their relationships after the Soludos to rebuild families and, by extension, society.

Among the dignitaries at the mass celebration were the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, and his wife, the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, the Traditional Ruler of Isuofia, Igwe Aloysius Moghalu, top government officials, and members of the clergy.
