The Federal Government has fulfilled its pledge to award members of the Super Eagles with housing units and land following their runner-up finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that players have now been presented with certificates for the land plots and flats promised by President Bola Tinubu. The handover took place at the team’s camp in Fez, Morocco.
At the tournament, Nigeria finished second after a 2–1 defeat to hosts Côte d’Ivoire in the final match. Following their return, the President welcomed the squad at the Presidential Villa, where each player was conferred with the national honor of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON). In addition, President Tinubu had earlier promised that every player would receive a plot of land in the Federal Capital Territory and a housing unit as recognition for their achievement.
This move marks the government’s fulfillment of its commitment to reward the team for their exceptional performance, giving the players tangible assets as a token of appreciation for their efforts in bringing pride to the nation.
