    Panic As Terrorists Attack Kaduna Community

    Gun-wielding terrorists have launched a fresh attack on the Dogon-noma community in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

    VOP News gathered that the terrorists stormed the community in the early hours of Saturday, March 16 and shot indiscriminately to scare the residents.

    Confirming the attack in a chat with journalists, a former chairman of the local government, Cafra Caino, said the attackers invaded the village around 5.45 am today in large numbers on bikes and vehicles.

    The former council boss said the community has recently been experiencing attacks from terrorists.

    The attack came barely three days after one person was killed, and eight women were kidnapped in the Banono Angwaku community of the same local government

    12 Killed, Others Injured in Fresh Herdsmen Attacks on Benue Communities

    Gunmen have killed no fewer than 12 persons, with several others sustaining various degrees of injuries in fresh attacks on Anyiin and other communities such as Ayilamo, Iorza and Gbeji in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.

    The attackers are alleged to be Fulani herdsmen.

    VOP News gathered from usually dependable eyewitnesses that the renewed attacks which were unprovoked started last Monday with the killing of three innocent persons.

    The source further added that the killings continued up to Wednesday and Sunday with about 9 persons losing their lives.

    The fleeing eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, said apart from invading houses, the attackers blocked Anyiin, Iorza and Gbeji roads in broad daylight, killing more people and collecting various sums of money from helpless villagers.

    He called on the Benue State Government to provide security for the defenseless people of Anyiin and its environs who are currently under severe attack.

    According to him, the herdsmen carried out the attacks on a daily basis in the last two weeks without interruption from security operatives.

    Confirming the attacks while speaking with journalists, the Benue State Police Command Spokesperson, SP Sewuese Anene, said the command had deployed personnel to maintain peace in the troubled communities and called on affected people to remain calm.

    Gunmen Kidnap Abuja Landlords, Demand N20m Ransom

    In a tragic development, Gunmen on Sunday kidnapped two landlords in the Asokoro extension area of the Federal Capital Territory.

    The gunmen are demanding N20m ransom to release the victims.

    VOP News gathered that armed men pointed a gun at one of the landlords in the area whom they used to gain access to a victim.

    A resident of the area explained that the other victim was making his way into his house when he was whisked away by the armed men.

    The source noted that the kidnappers had reached out to the families and demanded N20m to release the landlords.

    The Asokoro Commander of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Mohammed Seidu, confirmed the incident,  adding that efforts are ongoing with the police to rescue the victims.

    Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a student of Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

    The student, named Ajoke, a National Diploma ll student of Science Laboratory Technology.

    The incident was said to have happened Monday night. Some students of the institution also sustained a series of gunshots.

    However, the exact number of students injured cannot be ascertained at the moment.

    Gunmen Kidnap 5 Persons in Ebonyi

    Gunmen have kidnapped five persons along Ishiagu -Okigwe highway in Ivo local government area of Ebonyi State.

    The victims were said to be returning from the Enugu International Airport on Tuesday evening when the gunmen grabbed them.

    A source in the area who confirmed the incident said the victims included a couple, their 12 years old daughter and their driver.

    VOP News gathered that the gunmen also kidnapped a farmer in the bush while escaping with their victims.

    Special Assistant to Ebonyi State Governor on Internal Security, Ivo Local Government Area of the State,Ike Cletus, who confirmed the abduction expressed worry over persistent kidnaping in the area.

    He called for total overhaul of the security architecture of the council.

    Police spokesperson in the state, Onome Onovewakpoyeya, also confirmed the incident, stating that investigation is ongoing to ascertain the location of the incident

    17 persons being killed in a fresh attack by gunmen on HEIPANG Community in BARKIN LADI Local Government Area of Plateau State.

    VOP news gathered that the attack occurred around 1am, when most residents of the community were asleep.

    The attack is coming three days after a commuter, who was returning from Kara, a cattle market in BUKURU was attacked and killed in the HEIPANG area.

    The BEROM YOUTH MOULDERS ASSOCIATION (BYM) had on Tuesday condemned the killing of the commuter, explaining that the attack was purely an act of criminality by enemies of peace.

    The spokesperson of the Operation Safe Haven, a multi-security taskforce maintaining peace in the state, Captain OLA JAMES, who confirmed the latest incident said troops of the operation had been deployed to the community 

    Mr. JOHN MARK PAM, the state youth leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the northern zone, who also confirmed the incident said he had lost his brother.

    Gunmen abduct popular native doctor, kill aides in Anambra hotel

    A popular native doctor has been reportedly abducted by gunmen in Oba, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

    “Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki” was said to have been kidnapped Sunday night from his hotel room while two of his personal aides were shot dead.

    The Nation gathered that the man, said to be among the strongest as well as the richest witch doctor in the State, was abducted effortlessly by the gunmen.

    A source close to the family said:“Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki na Oba has been kidnapped last night in his Triple P Hotel.

    “Two of his security men were shot dead. Where is Nwa Ocha and Odeshi? This is someone people flock his Oba mansion for anti-bullet charms and other money rituals.”

    Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the incident, saying Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye has launched manhunt for his abductors.

    No fewer than 15 persons were on Sunday night kidnapped by gunmen at the 1,000 Housing Estate along the Pegi community in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Abuja.

    The gunmen who reportedly launched the attack at about 11:30 pm, shot sporadically into the air and took away several persons who were returning from the city at the time.

    Chairman of Pegi Residents Association, Taiwo Aderibigbe, disclosed that among the victims was a staff of the FCT Department of Development Control.

    He explained that the kidnappers have not contacted the families of those abducted.

    Director of the FCT Department of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima, confirmed that one of his staff was a victim.

    The FCT Command of the Nigerian Police Force was yet to react to the incident
