Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, executive secretary of the National Universities Commission, has tendered his resignation.
After approving the functioning of a third Kogi State-owned institution, Rasheed announced his retirement on Thursday in Abuja.
Without providing any other information, he said that he was returning to the previous classroom.
The third state-owned institution, to be known as Kogi State institution, Kabba, was to be established at the event, and the Kogi State Government obtained the National Universities Commission’s (NUC) permission to do so.
In his mission statement, Governor Bello said that his trip to NUC to get an operating license for the institution came after the Kogi State House of Assembly passed a resolution last Thursday.
