Timileyin Ajayi Pleads Not Guilty to Murder of Salome Adaidu
Timileyin Ajayi, the man accused of murdering Salome Adaidu, has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
According to DAILY POST, he was brought before the High Court of Justice in Lafia on Monday, where he faced Justice Simon Aboki. During the arraignment, Ajayi entered a plea of not guilty to the charge.
Ajayi is charged with one count of culpable homicide, which carries the death penalty under Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria.
The suspect was reportedly found with the severed head of Salome Adaidu, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Though he initially admitted to the crime, he claimed he killed Adaidu after discovering she had been unfaithful.
