All Progressives Congress APC pleads with President Muhammadu Buhari to comply with the Supreme Court’s injunction aimed at easing the prevailing cash crunch in the country ahead of Saturday’s presidential poll.
The position was widely endorsed by the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, led by Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, after an emergency meeting held at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, yesterday.
APC’s National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who briefed reporters on the outcome of the meeting held behind closed-doors, noted that it is necessary for the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to wade in on the issue.
Adamu said the call was aimed at alleviating the hardship Nigerians have been subjected to by the naira swap policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
He noted very seriously that the programme and its implementation is causing tremendous difficulties for citizens and to the national economy.
He urged the AGF and the CBN Governor to respect the Supreme Court order of interim injunction, which is still subsisting and further urged President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in resolving the issue that is causing great difficulties to the economy
