Tinubu has ordered security agencies to launch an immediate manhunt for the perpetrators of the attacks. He emphasized that those responsible must be arrested and prosecuted without delay, describing the killings as “needless and avoidable.”
The president also directed government agencies and humanitarian bodies to swiftly deliver relief materials to victims and displaced persons. He called on community, religious, and traditional leaders to step up efforts toward peacebuilding and reconciliation.
Over 100 people were reportedly killed in recent attacks in Benue State, particularly in Guma and Gwer West LGAs. The violence is part of a longstanding crisis often linked to farmer-herder conflicts and communal tensions.
President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to securing all Nigerians, saying violence will not be tolerated in any part of the country.
