Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will eventually sack the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, once he no longer serves a political purpose.
Lamido claimed Wike’s appointment was a strategic move by the President to gain political control over the South-South region. According to him, once Tinubu secures influence in key states like Akwa Ibom, Edo, Delta, and Rivers, Wike’s relevance will diminish.
Tinubu appointed Wike for a reason. Once that reason is fulfilled, he will remove him. Wike was a tool to achieve political ends in the South-South,” Lamido stated
Lamido suggested that with Tinubu already making political inroads in parts of the South-South, Wike’s position may soon be in jeopardy.
