A trailer on Wednesday night killed an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) at the Kure ultramodern market in Minna.
The deceased, who was on night duty in the office, went home on his Jincheng motorcycle and was returning to the office when he was hit by the trailer.
The driver of the trailer ran away, leaving the deceased on the road as passersby tried to help him to the hospital but he died immediately.
The Niger FRSC Sector Commander, Kumar Tsukwam, confirmed the incident saying that it was a fatal crash but the driver of the trailer was nowhere to be found and the registration number of the trailer is unknown.
He said that the corpse of the deceased was handed over to his relatives by officials of the NSCDC on ground after the accident
