Trump Mocks Musk’s Political Party as ‘Absurd’

Miami, FL

President Donald Trump took a sharp swipe at tech mogul Elon Musk on Sunday, dismissing Musk’s newly formed political party as “absurd ” during a high-energy rally in Florida. The verbal attack marks the latest chapter in the escalating rivalry between two of America’s most influential figures, as Musk’s “Forward Party” seeks to disrupt the political landscape.

Speaking to a packed crowd, Trump mocked Musk’s political ambitions, saying, “This guy’s out here talking about a new party? It’s absurd. He builds great rockets, I’ll give him that, but he should stick to space and leave politics to the pros.” The remarks drew cheers and laughter from supporters, many of whom see Musk’s venture as a distraction from the Republican agenda.

Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, unveiled the Forward Party earlier this month on his social media platform X, pitching it as a movement to promote innovation, free speech, and streamlined governance. In a post responding to Trump’s comments, Musk wrote, “The Forward Party isn’t here to play games—it’s about bringing reason and progress to a broken system. Ridicule won’t stop us.”

Political observers note that Musk’s party is positioning itself as a centrist alternative to the dominant Republican and Democratic parties, aiming to attract younger voters and tech-savvy independents frustrated with partisan gridlock. However, critics, including Trump, argue the party lacks a coherent platform and could inadvertently siphon votes from conservative candidates in the 2026 midterms.

The public spat underscores the contrasting styles of the two men. Trump, a political veteran known for his brash rhetoric, remains a dominant force in the Republican Party, while Musk, a relative newcomer to politics, leverages his massive online following to push his vision. Analysts suggest the Forward Party faces an uphill battle, with no candidates yet announced and skepticism from established political figures.

“Trump’s comments are a warning shot,” said Dr. Emily Carter, a political science professor at the University of Miami. “Musk’s wealth and influence make him a wildcard, but building a viable party from scratch is a monumental challenge, especially with heavyweights like Trump dismissing it outright.”

As the 2026 elections loom, the feud between Trump and Musk is likely to intensify, with both men vying for influence over the nation’s political future. For now, Trump’s mockery has put Musk’s fledgling party on the defensive, but the tech titan shows no signs of backing down.
