The Nigerian government’s Boeing 737-700 Business Jet has been quietly removed from the website of JetHQ, the international firm handling its sale.
Previously listed for sale as part of President Bola Tinubu’s fleet rationalisation and cost-cutting plan, the aircraft’s delisting was confirmed by JetHQ’s Manager of Market Research, Laurie Barringer. She directed inquiries to the Nigerian government for further information.
Efforts to obtain clarification from the National Security Adviser’s office have so far yielded no response.
The aircraft, originally purchased in 2005 for $43 million during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, underwent partial refurbishment and major inspections at AMAC’s Basel facility in 2024. Industry sources value a pre-owned Boeing 737 BBJ at approximately $56 million, depending on configuration and maintenance.
Since its listing in July 2025, the jet had remained unsold, and with the recent withdrawal, its current status remains unclear.
