Popular Nigerian social media activist, VeryDarkMan, has reportedly been arrested at a Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) branch following a confrontation with bank staff over alleged unauthorized debits from his mother’s account.

According to viral reports circulating on social media, the incident occurred when VeryDarkMan visited the bank to file a complaint about suspicious withdrawals he claimed were affecting his mother’s savings. Eyewitnesses allege that tensions rose after he became visibly agitated during the exchange with bank officials, eventually prompting security personnel to intervene.

Details surrounding the incident remain unclear, but reports suggest he was taken into custody shortly after the altercation.

As of the time of this report, GTBank has not released an official statement. However, his legal representative, Barrister Deji, confirmed the arrest via a post on Twitter.

The news has triggered a wave of reactions online, with many fans and commentators debating the handling of the situation and whether it could have been resolved more peacefully.

This arrest marks the latest controversy involving the outspoken influencer, who has gained a significant following for addressing societal issues affecting everyday Nigerians.
