Veteran journalist and the chairman of the editorial board of The Nation Newspapers, Sam Omatseye, has revealed that former President Muhammadu Buhari didn’t want President Bola Tinubu to become Nigeria’s leader after him.
According to him, Buhari and the cabals in his government, whom he described as peacocks and vampires, were not supportive of Tinubu’s ambition to emerge as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election.
Omatseye made the claim in his latest book titled “Beating All Odds: Diaries And Essays On How Bola Tinubu Became President.”
He added that part of their scheme resulted in the removal of Adams Oshiomhole as the national chairman of the APC.
